A Social Network for Market Researchers

From the poll on MRSpace's home page it is clear that most researchers are already on LinkedIn. Most being active, but some being inactive.

I think LinkedIn has reached a tipping point and I feel that most researchers should probably be on LinkedIn. What do other people think?

I think the future for MRSpace is being determined at the moment.

There are two main issues
1) Scammers, people who are not market reserchers who want to sell various products, such as thesis writing and herbal remedies are increasing the pressure on the group
2) It may well be that LinkedIn simply offers more.

Even if we determine, collectively that MRSpace should continue, I would advise everybody to join LinkedIn. In this group there are just over 1000 researchers, on Facebook the groups would seem to include perhaps 5000 researchers, on LinkedIn the groups probably include about 12000 researchers.

Although there are several market research groups on LinkedIn the best general group is Next Gen Market Research (NGMR), which can be found at http://www.linkedin.com/groups?home=&gid=31804.

I am running a smaller group on LinkedIn (about 250 members) which is looking at NewMR, which is where Web 2.0 and Research 2.0 seem to be heading, this group can be found at http://www.linkedin.com/groups?about=&gid=2446402
